They're not basic, so effects that search for basic lands (such as the ability of a Lander token) can't find them, but they do have the appropriate land types for effects such as that of Willowrush Verge (from the Aetherdrift release)
If you are relatively new, or are just ripping open booster packs for the first time, you may want to cover all of the rarities of the cards first
